Jenny our server was so welcoming & friendly! Service was outstanding! I’m so happy to have found this gem! The food was hot, fresh and so delicious! It’s not easy to find good Mexican food in Plainfield! The portions are huge! The pastor taco and torta de carne asada was my favorite! We also had the pozole which was good! I’m excited to try their carnitas and menudo on the weekends!

Absolutely loved this taco spot! The food was super fresh and full of flavor — some of the best tacos I’ve had in a long time. The service was just as impressive — everyone was so kind and welcoming, it really made the experience even better. You can tell they care about their customers. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

We were on the hunt for a new taco spot in Plainfield and decided to give this taqueria a try and we’re so glad we did! We ordered the Tampiqueña and a Steak and Al Pastor Burrito with guac, and both dishes were fantastic. The flavors were rich and unique, especially the salsa, which added a delicious twist to every bite. As a first-time visit, we were treated to complimentary chips and salsa — a thoughtful touch that instantly made us feel welcome. To top it all off, we were surprised with some incredible churros served with both a rich chocolate dipping sauce and a creamy sauce that paired perfectly. Everything from the food to the hospitality left a great impression. We’ll definitely be back!

I stopped by Tortillería y Taquería Mi Tierra and honestly, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. If you’re craving real, authentic Mexican food, this place absolutely delivers. I ordered the asada sopes and they were incredible—thick, freshly made sopes with a crispy outside and soft center, topped with perfectly seasoned carne asada, fresh lettuce, queso fresco, and a generous drizzle of crema. Each bite was flavorful and filling. The al pastor quesadilla was just as impressive. The meat was tender and well-marinated, with that slightly sweet, smoky flavor al pastor should have. The quesadilla was grilled to perfection—crispy on the outside, cheesy and savory on the inside. I also tried their churros, and wow—freshly fried, crispy, and dusted with just the right amount of cinnamon sugar. They had that soft, warm center that makes a churro unforgettable. To drink, I had the lemon and cucumber water with chia—super refreshing and not overly sweet. The chia gave it a nice texture and made it feel even more revitalizing on a hot day. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and made with care. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere had a casual, welcoming vibe. Prices were fair, especially for the quality and portion sizes. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend Mi Tierra if you’re looking for real Mexican comfort food done right.

The food is incredibly delicious! It's hard to choose between one dish and another; they're ALL delicious. My favorite tacos are the pastor and asada, the best you'll find in all of Chicago. They're perfectly prepared, the ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is beautiful. The service is excellent, very attentive and fast. Jenny is extremely friendly. The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, but above all, very clean. I highly recommend it. Tortilleria y Taqueria mi Tierra

Great service and even better food! Started off with chips and salsa, plus some delicious pickled red onions and a habanero sauce that had a perfect kick. I ordered the steak tacos plate — nice-sized tacos packed with high-quality meat, and the beans and rice on the side were spot on. The horchata was refreshing and full of flavor. Best tacos in Plainfield, Illinois. Must try!

Super cute place, food was great & service was amazing. My husband and I ordered the Tampiqueña, we like our meat rare & what do you know? The meat arrived rare & it was delicious. Our daughter got the steak cheese quesadilla with rice & beans. The quesadilla was stuffed with bits of grilled skirt steak. The chips were so good & my daughter devoured the salsa. My husband & I loved the salsa with the green hot sauce from the squeeze bottle on it. As a spicy fanatic with a high threshold, I would suggest a spicier salsa. We do not ever do this, especially after lunch, but we also ordered dessert as well, my husband got the cheesecake burrito & I ordered the flan. The waitress brought a churro for our daughter which was very sweet of her to do. They were all fantastic. If you have a sweet tooth the cheesecake burritos is surely for you! The service was truly great, our waitress whose name I did not ask but now wish I had, she had black hair & wore pretty red lipstick which really suited her, she was very sweet & personable. Immediately served our needs & requests. The restaurant is very clean, bright & welcoming. We will definitely recommend this place & will visit again. Thank you so much.

Don’t wait! I’m always hesitant to try New Mexican restaurants. Too many times I have been let down with first tries. We almost ended up at the restaurant next door but decided to give this place a go. We are glad we did. Fresh made tortillas. They were making them fresh while we were there. The tortilla chips were fresh from the tortillas they make. A red salsa, a green salsa, purple onion/habanero, a basket of tortilla chips, and chip salsa served when you sit down. The steak is fantastic and the chicken was really good. I had a steak torta that I shared with my daughter. My wife and two other children had the taco dinners with steak and chicken. Fairly priced for quality Mexican food. The store front is small with a few tables to seat maybe 20 at once. And the staff, out of this world friendly. Don’t sleep on this one.
